Hugo Charles Claude charged with driving without due car and attention causing grievous bodily harm

The identity of a New South Wales man who allegedly caused a Bruce Hwy crash that hospitalised four people and seriously injured a child has been revealed in court.

A man charged over a crash on the Bruce Hwy at Tinana last month has had his charge mentioned in court.

Hugo Charles Claude, a 27-year-old New South Wales man, was allegedly behind the wheel of a Toyota RAV4 when it crashed with a Nissan Dualis and Isuzu D-Max travelling in the opposite direction on March 11 about 2.15pm.

Mr Claude has been charged with one count of driving without due car and attention causing grievous bodily harm.

No pleas have been entered.

Four people travelling in the Nissan Dualis were transported to Hervey Bay Hospital with significant injuries and lacerations, including a six-year-old girl who was later flown to Queensland Children’s Hospital in a serious condition.

The driver of the D-Max sustained minor injuries and was not transported to hospital.

The matter was briefly mentioned on April 22, 2024.

It will be mentioned again on May 13, 2014.
