The long arm of the law has caught up with a mum of three seven years after she was busted with ecstasy pills.

Emity Isabella Thomas, 29, pleaded guilty to possessing dangerous drugs and failing to properly dispose of a needle and syringe when she appeared before the Hervey Bay Magistrates Court this week.

The court heard the offences dated from January 2017.

Thomas had been in a vehicle driving on the Gold Coast Highway when it was stopped by police.

The vehicle had been reported stolen on January 21, 2017, the court was told.

During a search of Thomas’ pink handbag, a syringe and needle were found inside, and she admitted the item belonged to her and she had used it to take the drug ice.

After being transported to Southport Watch House and during a search police found about seven ecstasy tablets concealed in Thomas’ bra, the court was told.

The court heard Thomas now had three children and worked as a hairdresser.

The charges were dated and she had changed her lifestyle, the court was told.

Magistrate Trinity McGarvie said she accepted Thomas’ life had changed considerably in the years since the offending, but she needed to ensure justice was done.

She was fined $750 and convictions were recorded.
