Rewards for the hardworking can sometimes seem in short supply but the 2021 Queensland Training Awards provide an opportunity to thank some of those who deserve recognition.
The government is calling on people to vote in the state’s training sector for their favourite local-mastery-talented.
Nominations open today for high achievers to share their training stories, in the awards’ Diamond Jubilee year.
Minister for Training and Skills Development Di Farmer said the 60th anniversary marked the power of skills and how they had changed the economy.
“For 60 years the Queensland Training Awards have been celebrating how skills change lives and transform businesses,” Ms Farmer said.
The awards go beyond for apprentices and trainees striving for excellence within training, including “vocational students, teachers and trainers, as well as employers, training providers and community projects”.
“Many of these stories are nothing short of inspiring ... the awards can help entrants expand their career options and raise their profile,” Ms Farmer said.
“The Queensland Government wants to see more trainees and apprentices succeed – it’s good for staff, good for business and good for the whole of Queensland – which is why we invest so much in training, to give people the skills they need to realise their goals.”
Nominations close Sunday 21 March 2021.
