Hervey Bay locals can now enjoy a delicious Asian hot pot dining experience in their own homes.
Popular German restaurant Schnitzel & Ribs at 136 Torquay Rd, Scarness, has recently expanded by starting Hervey Bay Hot Pot.
No equipment or food preparation is necessary – it’s all provided to customers to take home with them.

Schnitzel & Ribs owner Gerry Jansenberger said instead of having the hot pot experience at the restaurant, customers can enjoy it at home.
“The idea is to have it for people so they can order it here, take it home … and just to return the pot the next day,” he said.
The new business venture was spearheaded by Gerry’s partner Moi Thingsen.
Customers can choose between two hot pot menus which the restaurant can adjust depending on the amount of people.
One of the menus is seafood-inspired with fresh king prawns and fish balls, while the other focuses on marinated pork belly and chicken.
Customers will then be given a hot pot to take home, which they can return to the restaurant the next day.
The minimum order is for two people and the restaurant only takes 10 orders each day.
Mr Jansenberger said they started the new business as there was nothing like it in Hervey Bay.
Each hot pot order will also come with an easy-to-follow instruction manual to guide customers while cooking at home.
More information about menus, prices and ordering is available on the Hervey Bay Hot Pot Facebook page.
