The Brolga Theatre will mark its 25th anniversary over 10 days of celebration next month, headlined by performances from the Wiggles’ Dorothy the Dinosaur, a cabaret show, and the Fraser Coast Schools Spectacular.
The festival, running from July 10-20, is open to residents and visitors, with Fraser Coast Regional Council Arts and Culture spokeswoman Michelle Govers saying it will mark 25 years of memorable performances, artistic expression, and local pride.
“The Brolga has played a pivotal role in the Fraser Coast’s cultural life for a quarter of a century, and we’re thrilled to mark this milestone with such a vibrant and diverse program,” she said.
She said this 25th anniversary was a celebration of the artists, students and audiences who’ve made the Brolga what it is, and a chance to look ahead to an exciting future of arts on the Fraser Coast.
“Since opening its doors in 2000, the Brolga Theatre has become a home for creativity and connection on the Fraser Coast,” she said.
“The Brolga continues to go from strength to strength, with more than 41,000 people attending performances last year - the highest annual attendance in its history.
“The 25th anniversary is a chance to reconnect with the Brolga’s story and celebrate its role as both an entertainment hub and a cornerstone of community life.
“This will be a celebration for the whole community, and we can’t wait to welcome past and future performers, supporters and audiences to be part of it.”
Highlights will include the 25-year exhibition on July 14, Dorothy the Dinosaurs Spectacular Show on July 15, a Cabaret Performance on July 16, the Fraser Coast Schools Spectacular on July 18, a community gala night on July 19, and a family fun day on July 20.
Other acts performing during the festival include Jamie Dunn and Agro, Fleetwood Macs, and pianist David Scheel.
