Revealed: Fraser Coast’s best dance teacher

You voted. Now, a clear winner as emerged in the hunt for the Fraser Coast’s Best Dance Teacher.

The votes are in and Hervey Bay Dance School teacher Jessica Pennell has named as the Fraser Coast’s Best Dance teacher.

It comes after Fraser Coast Chronicle readers were asked to nominate their favourite and then vote in a poll.

Speaking to the Chronicle on the weekend, Jessica said it was really nice just to nominated and acknowledged by the parents and students involved at the school.

“I think it’s really touching they feel that I do a good job for their kids and families, I teach kids of all ages so it’s really nice to get that feedback,” Ms Pennell said.

“I couldn’t have done it without the other teachers in the studio and part of me wants this to be a shared thing because all the teachers on the Fraser Coast are amazing and bring their own skills … I wish I could share it with all of them.”

Jessica teaches multiple dance styles including jazz, tap dancing, ballet, hip-hop, contemporary dance and musical theatre.

“I grew up dancing and the appreciation for my own teacher, I can feel that coming full circle with my own students and watching achieve new things, coming to the studio, watching them get it … it just lifts up your week,” she said.

“I appreciate everyone voting for me but it really is a community for me and all teachers should be acknowledged,” she said.
