A GoFundMe page has been started for a family that was forced to flee a house fire this week.

The blaze broke out at the Walker St home about 1.12am on Wednesday.

Firefighters from Maryborough Fire and Rescue Station attended the scene and a vehicle in the property also caught on fire.

The property and car were destroyed during the blaze which took firefighters an hour to bring under control and was not completely out until 5am.

Witnesses reported seeing the property “well up in flames” by the time emergency services arrived on the scene.

Three occupants, a 33-year-old woman and two children escaped unharmed, a Queensland Police spokesman said.

Investigators were on the scene on Thursday morning and concluded that the blaze was “accident” and further investigation was not required.

Steve-Leigh Devine, the sister of the woman who lost her home, posted a GoFundMe page to help the family through the loss.

She said the fire had destroyed “everything they owned”.

“If anyone could please help even if it’s a few dollars or whatever you can spare it will be very appreciated,” she wrote.
