A new gourmet dessert company called Henri’s is on track to open on the Fraser Coast in October.
Henri’s is the creation of Hervey Bay businessman Evan Munroe, who hopes his gourmet desserts will “create excitement and connect people through the shared experience of eating something delicious”.
The business will operate from his home, but one day a week customers will be able to dine at a physical venue, he said.
Originally from Canberra, Mr Munroe has called the Fraser Coast home for the past decade and he and his wife, Holly, currently run HEEA Therapy Services in Scarness, an allied health service provider.

Cooking has been a passion for him since his mother started teaching him as child.
Throughout adulthood the interest in cooking remained strong for Mr Munroe, and he expanded his skills through watching YouTube and reading cooking books. He adores the French style of cooking due to it strong dessert influence.
After a lifetime of cooking for the love of it, Mr Munroe said it seemed a natural step to turn his hobby into a business.
