After Dark Beauty Bar voted Fraser Coast’s best lash technician 2025
A young woman who started her own business out of her parent’s home nine years ago has been voted the Fraser Coast’s top lash technician of 2025 - meet her, and the businesses that made the top five:

The Fraser Coast beauty industry and its customers have crowned a new champion of local lash technicians.
After Dark Beauty Bar, located on Torquay Rd in Pialba, has been voted the Fraser Coast’s best lash technician in a poll of Fraser Coast Chronicle readers, winning 25 per cent of the total vote, and beating 23 other beauticians to take the title.
Coming in second, with 14 per cent of the vote, was Addicted to B, third was BFF Beauty with 11 per cent of the vote, and equal fourth was SK Beauty and Sinful Lashes, each with 6 per cent. Congratulations to our top five.
Dark Beauty Bar owner Missie-Lee Mylonas started her business from her parent’s home in 2016, before branching out to her own shop front on Torquay Rd, Pialba.
“We’ve been in the shop for eights years and it’s going amazing,” Ms Mylonas said.
“We’re like a family in here.
“I have people from day one still regularly visiting us and we’ve built such a nice community around us.”
In an ever-changing industry, Ms Mylonas understands that her team of five beauticians will need to continue evolving their skills, which is why she became a qualified trainer in lashes and brows but also resilience and mindfulness.
“Lots of people will train, but they will actually miss the mindset blocks that don’t allow them to get to the next level,” she said.
Ms Mylonas’ store was one of the worst hit by the March 2025 flooding event and had to fully rebuild the interior, but continued to work through the reconstruction.
Other personal issues, along with flood damage to her house and the occasional shoplifter in the store, have allowed her to focus on being resilient during tough times.
Something customers can look forward to from the salon are UV lashes, touted by Ms Mylonas as a new lash that will last longer and be an upgrade on old technology.
