A Tinana home salon with a welcoming atmosphere and a four-legged assistant has been voted as the Fraser Coast’s best hairdresser.

After working as a hairdresser since 2009, Tash Kruske decided working in a busy salon wasn’t for her and started her own home salon, Tash’s Hair House.

“I prefer the one-on-one experience compared to a busy salon, and I know a lot of my clients do as well,” she said.

The Fraser Coast Chronicle asked readers to nominate their favourite hairdresser and Miss Kruske’s salon was voted as the region’s favourite, followed by Supreme Hair Artistry and La Lars.

Miss Kruske started the salon in her living room nine years ago but now operates it from a newly renovated granny flat at her 1.6ha Tinana property.

Already booked out until the end of the year, Tash’s Hair House, has attracted a loyal following.

Miss Kruske said it was the fourth year her salon had won the title of the region’s best.

“I’ve got so much support behind me, it’s absolutely phenomenal,” she said.

“Some clients have been with me since my first daughter was in my belly, and she is turning 10 in November.”

The Maryborough born woman is a mum to two girls, Saydee, 9, and Kaylee, 3.

“It’s definitely a different salon experience. I don’t think you would get it anywhere else,” she said.

“My animals pop in every now and then, which a lot of clients open the door for them to come in.”

Miss Kruske said her seven-month-old Cavoodle puppy Bronte was very popular.

“She’s like the salon’s little icon,” she said.

Client of around five years and friend Casey Stepanov said what she loved about the salon was the care and attention – “as well as the good results”.

“It’s very personal, when you leave you feel good and the dogs are such a good asset,” Ms Stepanov said.

Miss Kruske said she was currently putting the finishing touches on a salon renovation.

She said she was also in discussions with a “great” hairdresser who may join the team soon.
