Bundaberg Lifeflight rescues woman after riding incident

A rescue chopper was called when a woman suffered serious injuries after falling off a horse on the Fraser Coast.

A woman was rushed to hospital with serious injuries after she fell off a horse at the weekend.

A Lifeflight spokesman said a rescue helicopter was called about 6pm yesterday, May 12, after the woman fell off the horse at a private property in the Fraser Coast, causing her to suffer suspected pelvic and shoulder injuries.

The pilot landed the aircraft near the scene of the incident, where the aeromedical crew met with Queensland Ambulance Service paramedics to treat the patient.

She was flown to the Sunshine Coast University Hospital in a serious but stable condition.
