Bundaberg council receives Innes Park subdivision application

The application was lodged early April by Surf Australia, represented by Bplanned and Surveyed, who recently went back to council with a number of tweaks to the original proposal.
The developers have stated in their application they are confident the blocks would not be in the path of flooding or cause environmental issues.
The development’s complex history, dating back to June 1996, includes various approvals, negotiations, and extensions.

Recently, an extension request was granted by the Planning and Environment Court, enabling the developers to align their application with the current planning scheme.

The proposed changes, supported by engineering plans from GHD and Insite SJC, mark a juncture in the development’s evolution.
With the support of local authorities, Surf Australia aims to navigate infrastructure challenges effectively, ensuring the proposed changes respond not only to local planning schemes but also to state planning instruments, updated flood information, and sewerage infrastructure updates. Despite these alterations, developers were confident that flooding and ecology matters will not necessitate further layout changes, with sufficient provisions in place to manage stormwater and ensure flood immunity for the lots.
