Bachelor Blake Garvey's pull no help in auction

THE star power of a former Bachelor reality TV star did not help the sale of a new lot at Sanctuary Estate on the weekend.

THE star power of a former Bachelor reality TV star did not help the sale of a new lot at Sanctuary Estate on the weekend.

Best known for his well-publicised heartbreaking antics, Blake Garvey, who is also a fast talking auctioneer, travelled to the Fraser Coast on the weekend to oversee the sale of lot 108 of the 170-lot Dundowran estate.

The property auctioned by Blake did not make to make the reserve price but property developer Russell Geldard said two other lots on the estate were now under contract.

"People wanted blocks situated a lot further down the estate," he said.

The block reached a price of $145,000 - about $5000 short of the reserve price.

He said he was "really happy" with the auction, despite the scheduled property not reaching the desired sale price.

Mr Geldard said Blake's star power attracted about 100 people to the auction hoping to get a glimpse of the notorious Lothario.

"He was surprised at how good the house prices were (compared to Sydney and Perth)," Mr Geldard said.

And it seemed one look at the Bay was not enough for Blake.

"We will probably bring Blake back next year," Mr Geldard said.

But any trip would most likely not be until February or March in the new year.

Blake bought partner Louise Pillidge with him to Hervey Bay, just days after she launched her own lifestyle website.
