Much of the Darling Downs and Maranoa has already experienced heavy falls in the past several days.
Dalby is expect to receive 40 to 70mm of rain to Tuesday, after already being swamped by more than 60mm over the past week.
Chinchilla can also expect 45 – 80mm in the same period, coming off the back of a drenching of 30mm Saturday.
Roma is also expect to be hit by 45 – 70mm of rain, after a wet week where the region received more than 42mm in the gauge.
The wild weather is being caused by a surface trough that is forecast to deepen in response to an approaching upper level trough and embedded low overnight tonight and into Tuesday. A tropical air mass with abundant moisture will be in place ahead of these features.
