Truck crashes into tree on Moonie Highway corner, driver escapes injury

Emergency services were called to a truck crash on the Moonie Highway. Here’s what happened.

A driver has been lucky to avoid serious injury after crashing his truck on the corner of the Moonie Highway and Toombilla Track.

Ambulance crews were called to the scene of the crash about 2pm Thursday after reports a truck had left the road and collided with a tree.

A rescue helicopter was initially called to attend the scene but has since been stood down.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said the patient was out of the vehicle and in a stable condition.

She said he had reported minor pain in his arm and would been taken to hospital for a check-up.

The cause of the crash remains unknown.
