Joseph John Hill: Driver faces court for allegedly causing fatal head-on crash
The man allegedly behind the wheel of a car that slammed into a semi-trailer on the Warrego Hwy near Dalby, killing a mother of five, has faced court for the first time.

The driver alleged to have been behind the wheel of a car when it slammed head-on into a semi-trailer, killing a mother-of-five, has faced court.
Joseph John Hill, 35, appeared in Dalby Magistrates Court on Tuesday after being charged in relation to the fatal crash at Bowenville earlier this year.
The Warrego Hwy was closed for several hours on June 18 after the Holden Commodore Mr Hill was driving slammed head-on into a semi-trailer.
Passenger Brooke Holder, 29, was tragically killed when the Holden Commodore allegedly veered onto the wrong side of the highway and collided with the truck.
Ms Holder’s mother, Ruth Deuble, told the Dalby Herald at the time that receiving the heart-sinking call her girl was gone, had the family in pieces.
“She was just such a beautiful person who has done everything for us,” Mrs Deuble said.
“Brooke was always there for her family and was just our everything.”
The 35-year-old driver of the truck was transported to Dalby Hospital where he was treated for minor injuries.
Mr Hill had to be cut free from the wreckage of the commodore and was flown to hospital in Brisbane with critical injuries.
The Kearneys Spring, Toowoomba, man was charged on October 26 with dangerous operation of a motor vehicle causing death or grievous bodily harm, driving unlicensed and driving with a relevant drug present, and issued with a notice to appear.
His case was briefly mentioned this week and he was granted bail to return to court on January 18.
