A man died following a horror motorcycle crash on the Western Downs

The Tara man was fatally injured when he crashed into a tree of Tara-Kogan Rd just after 12pm on Thursday.

A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said paramedics worked on the injured man for a while before handing the matter over to police.

Initial investigations indicate at 12.15pm the motorcyclist was riding a white 2013 Kawasaki Ninja 300 travelling north along Tara-Kogan Rd, near Arnolds Road, when he has left the road and struck a tree.

The forensic crash unit are investigating and are appealing for anyone with dashcam vision of the rider prior to the crash, or any witnesses that have not yet spoken with investigators to contact police.

The horror crash comes just 24 hours after a 66-year-old Canberra man was killed when he came off his motorbike on the Gold Coast after colliding with a truck.
