Up to ten acres of land has been lost following a fire on Pechey – Maclagan Rd at Quinalow.

Three fire crews attended the scene 30 minutes east of Dalby after reports that the scrub land had caught ablaze on Monday.

Fire services reported said they had used machinery to create a break in the firewall which stretched about 100m.

They said they had the blaze contained by 2.10pm but one crew remains on scene to monitor for flare ups.

The cause of the blaze remains unknown, but crews said investigations were underway.
