A stylist with nearly 20 years’ experience has revealed teamwork and consistency are the secrets to her success, after being crowned Dalby’s best hairdresser for 2021.
Elite Hair Design’s Lara Krause competed against tough competition in this year’s poll, with Dalby Herald readers nominating several of their favourite hairdressers for a chance to be the area’s best.
Mrs Krause said she couldn’t be where she is today without the girls at Elite Hair Design.
“The only reason we’re as good as we are is because we’re a team,” she said.
“All of the girls in the salon are as good as me, and I feel like your appointment book and how busy you are tells you how good you really are.
“We’re all super busy, so I think that says a lot.”
Beginning her foray into styling and cuts in her teenage years, Mrs Krause was initially unsure what career route to take after school.
“I didn’t know what to do, but someone offered me a job and it was a good opportunity at the time,” she said.
“When I started doing it I loved it, and now I can’t imagine doing anything else.”
Nearly 20 years later, Dalby’s best hairdresser said she has forged hundreds of friendships with her colleagues and clients along the way.
Mrs Krause has been at Elite Hair Design for 14 years, which is a family-owned business run by her brother and sister-in-law.
To be crowned Dalby’s best hairdresser, she chalks it up to two important aspects.
“It’s about consistency. I’ve been here for a long time because I care about my clients,” she said.
“They’re not just my clients, I create friendships with them.
“But at the end of the day, I couldn’t be anywhere without the girls in the salon.
“You can’t be a team with one person.”
