RACQ Capricorn Rescue responds to machinery incident at Arcturus

A man has been flown to a Brisbane hospital with serious injuries after getting caught in machinery at a rural Central Queensland property.

A man has been flown to a Brisbane hospital after sustaining significant injuries on a farming property between Emerald and Springsure.

Paramedics were called to a private property at Arcturus about 11.30am Tuesday after a man, understood to be in his early 30s, got caught in farming machinery.

The Rockhampton-based RACQ CapRescue helicopter was also tasked to the incident.

A spokeswoman for Queensland Ambulance Service said the man had suffered serious chest injuries, but was not trapped.

She said the man had been caught in farming machinery, but could not confirm what type.

There are a number of large properties in the Arcturus area mainly used for cattle breeding and fattening, and grain operations.

Paramedics worked for a number of hours to stabilise the man, with crews still on scene at 3.20pm Tuesday.

After being stabilised the man was flown to Emerald Airport where a flight was waiting for him to be flown to Brisbane for further advanced treatment for significant chest injuries.

He was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital in a stable condition.
