CQ man charged with sexual assault did not appear in Emerald court

A man charged with three counts of sexual assault did not appear in Emerald court this week, with his lawyer outlining his request for the next steps in the matter.

A Central Queensland man charged with three counts of sexual assault has had his matters heard in Emerald Magistrates Court.

The man, aged in his 50s, is charged with three counts of sexual assault and one of common assault.

He cannot be named at this stage for legal reasons.

The man did not physically appear in court, with law clerk Nicholas Coughlan appearing on behalf of Sean Gibbs of Fisher Dove, who is representing the man.

Mr Coughlan asked that the man’s matters be listed for a date in March, to allow his client to appear in court.

The matter was adjourned to March 17 in Moranbah Magistrates Court.
