Woman killed, man injured after crash between car and caravan

A woman has been killed after the car she was a passenger in collided with a 4WD towing a caravan along a major Queensland highway.

A woman has been killed after the car she was a passenger in collided with a 4WD towing a caravan near Emerald on Thursday.

The collision occurred about 12.30pm when a car travelling on Anakie Sapphire Rd at Anakie Siding hit a 4WD with a caravan that was travelling along the Capricorn Hwy from Emerald toward Alpha.

Police confirmed that a 64-year-old Andergrove woman died at the scene of the crash, while the 68-year-old male driver of the car was taken to Emerald Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.

A 37-year-old Moura man, who was driving the 4WD, and two girls aged 14 and 12 years old, who were travelling in that vehicle, were also taken to Emerald Hospital for non-life-threatening injuries.
