Emergency declaration as police called to man ‘making threats’ in Mount Perry

Police have made an emergency declaration and an exclusion zone is currently in place.

An exclusion zone is in place in a North Burnett suburb after police were called to an incident involving a man making threats.

Police have made an emergency declaration under the Public Safety Preservation Act at Mount Perry, in relation to a police incident early Sunday morning, May 18.

Emergency services were called about 3.41am to a Shand St address in relation to a man making threats.

An exclusion zone has been established while police respond, encompassing Shand Street, Hunter Street and Mason Street.

Residents within the exclusion zone are asked to stay indoors and members of the public are asked to avoid the area, to allow police operations to continue safely.
