Police are searching for a number of people accused of fleeing the scene after an allegedly stolen Holden ute smashed through a fence at Bundaberg.

Police are searching for a number of people accused of fleeing the scene after an allegedly stolen Holden ute smashed through a fence at Bundaberg on Monday night.

Polices said the allegedly stolen Holden Colorado ute was being driven at Walkervale when it veered off the road and smashed into the fence at the corner of Hurst and Hunter Streets.

They said several people allegedly fled the scene, running towards Barolin St and McCracken St.

Investigations are ongoing and anyone who may have witnessed the crash or has CCTV or dashcam footage is urged to contact Policelink.
