Central and North Burnett’s best performing Naplan schools revealed

Central and North Burnett’s best performing schools in NAPLAN 2022 have now been revealed.

Analysis of the 2022 results shows Mundubbera State College recorded the best results for Year 9s and St Joseph’s Primary School came out on top for the Year 5 cohort.

Gayndah’s St Joseph’s had higher primary school results than any other school in North Burnett, scoring an average of 511.8 across the five test subjects.

St Joseph's principal Bec O’Connor said NAPLAN was a snapshot of student and school performance.

“It’s not the definitive assessment of all that our schools do, but an insight into how we perform,” Ms O’Connor said.

“It is what we do with this data that counts and our core business as a school is teaching and learning and we are always proud of any success in these areas.”

The junior students at Mundubbera State College placed second in the region with an average score of 468.0, while St Theresa's Catholic Primary School in Monto came third with 455.8.

Gayndah State School: 427.6

Eidsvold State School: 425.8

Monto State School: 418.2

The top performing secondary school was Mundubbera State College with an average score of 569.4.

Monto State High School followed with a score of 555.0, with Burnett State College in Gayndah in third with 543.8.

North Burnett‘s best performing Year 9 schools for 2022

Mundubbera State College: 569.4

Monto State High School: 555.0

Burnett State College: 543.8

Eidsvold State School: 540.4

The figures were independently compiled from the Federal Government’s MySchool website.

Special schools, schools with fewer than 20 students enrolled, and schools that did not report any results for NAPLAN subjects were excluded from the analysis.
