Three alleged dangerous teen drivers arrested at Kinkuna Beach

The Bundaberg Highway Patrol has been cracking down on dangerous driving and hooning on Kinkuna Beach as Operation Whiskey Roscoesoma continues.
Since the operation began in January 2024, more than 135 fines have been handed out for defective vehicles, P plates, and manner of driving including hooning and not wearing a seatbelt.
A police statement on Friday said eight people had been arrested on 12 charges relating to dangerous operation of a motor vehicle, participating in a hooning offence, and or drink and drug driving.
It said police continued to conduct high visibility and covert patrols of the beach and national park to enforce and educate people that all road rules applied on the beach and in national parks.

During patrols of Kinkuna Beach on August 10, within half an hour police allegedly witnessed and subsequently charged three separate vehicles driving dangerously.
First, they stopped a 17-year-old Bargara boy driving a Toyota Hilux after allegedly seeing him perform fishtails and skids on the sand.
It is alleged police had also stopped him on the beach seven days earlier to discuss his manner of driving.
He was issued with two TINs for drive/park or permit drive/park defective vehicle that does not comply with vehicle standards and wilfully start or drive vehicle in a way that makes unnecessary noise or smoke, worth a total of $677 and three demerit points.
His number plates were seized and his vehicle immobilised for 90 days.
While dealing with the 17-year-old Bargara boy, police say they saw another two vehicles doing donuts on the sand.
Both drivers were stopped – a Toyota Landcruiser and a Nissan Patrol driven by a 19-year-old Witta man and a 19-year-old Conondale man respectively.
Both drivers were issued with two TINs for wilfully start or drive vehicle in a way that causes undue noise or smoke and drive defective vehicle, worth $677 and three demerit points each.
The 19-year-old Witta man returned a breath alcohol concentration of 0.075 per cent, police said.
He was issued a Notice to Appear before the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on September 12 for drink driving and hooning.
The 19-year-old Conondale man returned a breath alcohol concentration of 0.078 per cent.
He was also issued a Notice to Appear before the Bundaberg Magistrates Court on September 12 for drink driving and hooning.
