Developer: Time is right to bring high-end homes to market

WORK has begun on what promises to be Bundaberg's most exclusive residential estate.

WORK has begun on what promises to be Bundaberg's most exclusive residential estate.

The framework of a 500sq m home is being erected and is the first home to be built on stage three of the Santalucia Corporation's Edenbrook development.

For the past 10 years, the company has patiently waited until conditions were right to bring this high-end offering, near Shalom College, to market.

The first stage of Edenbrook was completed in 2009.

Last June the company decided it was the time to move and help invigorate Bundaberg's subdued building sector.

Edenbrook project and sales manager for Santalucia Corporation Grant Botica said homes to be built on the estate would add a new dimension to the region's quality housing options.

Mr Botica said the offering would fill a void in the market.

This stage of development features 32 new lots, most close to 1000sq m.

"Edenbrook has set a new standard of quality homes in Bundaberg," Mr Botica said.

Already there has been strong interest with a handful of customers ready to go.

Mr Botica said most of the interest was local.

Mr Botica said the advantage Edenbrook had was its location and accessibility to schools, shops and restaurants.

He said families would benefit by not having to "spend so many hours driving the kids to and from school and sports every day". The estate is targeted towards families and retirees, and with an average price of $245,000 for land and about $750,000 for land and home packages.

For builder Anthony McLucas, who is working on the first house in this stage, it's an opportunity to construct a quality product on a premium-sized lot.
