A woman has been charged after she collided with a cyclist and crashed her car on June 3, 2022.
It’s alleged a 62-year-old woman was driving a van along the Woodgate Esplanade when she collided with a cyclist, ran through a garden bed and crashed into a palm tree.
The van also side swiped a number of parked cars during the ordeal.
She blew a blood alcohol reading of 0.258% and was taken to hospital where she suffered minor injuries.
The cyclist, a woman aged in her 60s, was taken to hospital suffering fractures.
No pedestrians were injured in the incident.
The driver was charged with dangerous operation of a vehicle whilst adversely affected by an intoxicating substance.
She is due to appear in Childers Magistrates Court on August 12.
