Employees of the Into Love Adult Superstore had a less than pleasurable experience on the weekend when they uncovered CCTV of two people allegedly stealing from their racks.
The sex shop’s Facebook alter-ego, “Max Love”, whose listed job is ‘Thief Exposer’ released the footage along with a heated message for the thieves on the Bundaberg Forum No Rules Facebook page.
“Hey Bundy, anyone know these 2? They thought it would be fun to come in and buy one item whilst stealing 3 others,” the post read.
“Yes losers, we got you on many of our 16 cameras that record 24/7. I like how you both look at all the cameras, probably wondering if they work or not - THEY DO!!! As if it's not hard enough to keep a small business running these days, we have grubs like this in week after week stealing from us.”
The video shows a dark-haired man and a blonde-haired woman in the Bundaberg South store, looking at a variety of lingerie and adult toys.
It’s alleged the pair paid for one item but took three others without paying, including handcuffs.
About $850 of goods were stolen from his Rockhampton store a week ago.
“A lady grabbed about eight things, we had other customers in the shop and she walked around and just grabbed things and threw them straight in her bag and ran out.”
It’s not the first time David Kidd has spoken out about thieves who tried to shaft his business.
His Gladstone store was targeted during the challenging Covid period in 2020.
Mr Kidd said he was so fed up with people continuously stealing from his businesses, he would be putting CCTV footage of anyone stealing from him on social media.
“Steal from me at your own risk, if I catch them, I’m going to put them on the internet and show everybody,” he said.
“Hopefully, by putting it up, it disincentivizes other people from coming to pinch from me.
“I feed my kids from this business, pay off my house, so they’re stealing from them and they’re hurting me.”
A $50 store credit award is on offer for anyone who is able to identify the culprits.
“We will give in-store credit to anyone who dobs them in and knows who they are,” Mr Kidd said.
Bundaberg police had been notified of the incident.
