A Bundaberg home that was fully engulfed in flames has been deemed as a non suspicious fire by police.
Six fire crews were called to the home on Tobruk St and Dr Mays Rd in Svensson Heights, across from Norville State School and the Bundaberg Special School about 2.20pm Friday, May 31, to reports of a home fully engulfed by flames and lots of smoke coming from the area.
Six crews were on scene and the blaze was put out about 4.15pm.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Service spokesman said firefighters could see smoke from the home from a “fair way away” as they approached the scene.
He said when they arrived to the scene, they rescued a person and their dog from a granny flat at the residence.
He said the low-set timber home was “fully involved,” and that after the rescue everyone was accounted for.
It was confirmed to police and firefighters by the home’s residents that the fire began as a kitchen fire.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said one person was treated for smoke inhalation at the scene, however, declined transport.
