Bushland fire blazes in Norville near The Waves
A large fire has taken hold of bushland in the Bundaberg suburb of Norville, with thick smoke causing many people to evacuate The Waves Sports Complex.

Fire crews were struggling to contain a fire in bushland near a popular Bundaberg sports club on Monday afternoon.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said six crews were dispatched to Thabeban St in Norville around 3.45pm in response to reports of a small fire burning in bushland.
The fire crews were battling the blaze at 4.45pm, with thick smoke blowing over sports fields at The Waves Sports Complex, causing many people to leave the complex.
The QFES spokesman said there was limited direct access to the fire because it was in thick bushland.
Fast moving fire forces Bundaberg evacuation
A Queensland Police Service spokesman said units were dispatched around 4pm and they are now controlling traffic in the vicinity of the fire.
Thabeban St is closed between Clayton Rd and Kay McDuff Drive.
