Snake handler tackles eastern brown in front yard

A man in his 20s has been hospitalised after a suspected snake bite.

Ambulance crews were called to a private address at Childers Road, Branyan just before 5pm on Sunday.

The man told paramedics he was bitten on the leg by a snake and was immediately treated at the scene.

He was taken to Bundaberg Hospital in a stable condition.

It comes little more than a week after a Fraser Coast snake catcher warned Wide Bay residents about the dangers of getting too close to the reptiles.
