Laneway on Woongarra provides a platform for handmade businesses

The women of the Laneway are putting a spotlight on local small businesses with a handmade niche with their new monthly markets.

The laneway on Woongarra St is set to become a stage for a range of small businesses showcasing their handmade products in a new market gig.

The idea was actualised by the current businesswomen calling the laneway home and inspired by the preloved markets, organised by Wonderland Movement, previously held there.

Jane Hart Photography, St Blonde, Stephanie Partridge Hair Stylist and Amanda Gear Makeup and Brow Artistry are all still working from the laneway, while Wonderland Movement has found a new home at 31 Bingera St.

Jane Hart said the new Handmade Markets would see 20 stalls line the laneway, 10 on each side, with a local musician set to entertain market attendees.

The preloved markets held at the Laneway on Woongarra set the stage for the idea of a handmade market in the Laneway.
