Mayor Helen Blackburn has officially launched Bundaberg’s 2024 Christmas program in anticipation of the fast approaching festive season.
Residents across the Bundaberg region can expect a jam packed schedule, with activities ranging from festive art exhibitions, Christmas workshops, markets, and even a drive-in Christmas movie from Friday, December 13.
Shopkeepers in the Bundaberg, Bargara, Childers, and Gin Gin CBDs are invited to embrace the festive season by participating in a shop decoration competition as part of a push to support small business this Christmas,
The most creatively decorated window will win a special prize: A half-day of personal assistance from Mayor Blackburn herself.

“Christmas is such an important time in Bundaberg because it reflects the spirit of community that we cherish all year round,” Mrs Blackburn said.
“So get out there and spend your dollars locally”.
The return of the highly anticipated Pageant of Lights in Bourbong St, and the lighting of the Christmas tree in Buss Park on Thursday, December 5, are on the list too.
On the night, one fortunate winner will be drawn for the caravan raffle.
The grand prize, a brand-new caravan valued at $69,990, is being raffled to support the Mayor’s Christmas Appeal.
Proceeds from the raffle will go towards local charities, helping provide Christmas hampers, food vouchers, and gifts to families doing it tough this holiday season.
Raffle tickets are available for purchase at the Bundaberg Service Club on Quay St.
