Driver sustains serious injuries after car collides with tree off Bruce Highway in Kolonga
A man was rushed to hospital in a serious condition after his car collided with a tree in the latest crash on Queensland’s most dangerous stretch of the Bruce Hwy.

A man was rushed to Bundaberg hospital after his car went down an embankment on the side of the Bruce Highway in Kolonga and collided with a tree on Wednesday.
Police said the car was travelling north along the Bruce Highway in Kolonga, 50km south of Miriam Vale, when it left the road and collided with a tree around 5.40am.
A Queensland Ambulance Service spokeswoman said ambulance units and a rescue helicopter were dispatched to the scene.
A man aged in his 40s was assessed for injuries, and was driven to Bundaberg Hospital by road with serious head and back injuries at around 7.40am.
A Queensland Fire and Emergency Services spokesman said one fire crew was dispatched to the scene, who assisted QAS since the driver was not entrapped in the vehicle.
Police said the road is clear following the incident and traffic is now flowing freely.
The incident is the latest on Queensland’s deadliest stretch of the Bruce Highway, with nine people losing their lives in seven crashes on the Bruce Highway in Kolonga since 2015.
