Residents near the iconic Bundaberg Barrel have woken to an early morning shock with a car going up in flames on a quiet suburban street.
Emergency services rushed to an address on Morrison Street in East Bundaberg just after 4am Wednesday following reports of a ute on fire.
A spokeswoman for Queensland Police Services said a Holden Rodeo was found engulfed in flames.
Images of the burning vehicle, the surrounding smoke haze, and fireys effort to stamp the blaze out were soon circulating on social media.
Two fire crews arrived at the scene around 4.20am, the fire was reportedly extinguished just before 5am.
Charges are yet to be laid, as police continue their investigations into the fire.
