Thousands of dollars have been raised for a Bundaberg family in the wake of the loss of their beloved brother and son.
Avenell Heights man Brayden Roy died when the red Honda motorcycle he was riding collided with a car near a school in Maroondan last week.
Emergency services received the call at 11am after the collision near the intersection of Mellvilles Rd and Bundaberg Gin Gin Rd, close the Maroondan State School but sadly Mr Roy died at the scene.
The fundraiser was started by family friend Trinitii Vanbrugh, who left a heartbreaking tribute for Mr Roy, saying she would miss her friend.
“I don’t even know what to say except that I’ll miss your face and your kind heart,” she wrote.
“You were so beautifully natured and you always made me laugh.
“You will be missed by everyone, you were a light in the dark.
“You didn’t deserve this at all.”
The fundraiser has raised $5760 for the family with a goal of $10,000.
“In times of tragedy, it’s important for us to come together and support one another,” Ms Vanbrugh said.
“On Thursday April 20, 2023, Brayden, B’Roy, tragically lost his life in a motorcycle accident.
“He was a friend to many, a polite and respectful young man.
“He was the beloved son to James and Tania and younger sibling to Trina, James Jr and Blake.
“He was a much-loved uncle to his nephews Danny and Tommy.
“He touched the lives of so many, young and old.
“Brayden’s family will use any kind donation to further Brayden’s dream at his beloved farm.”
The driver of the Ford Ranger, an 81-year-old Horse Camp man did not sustain any physically injuries.
