The Bundaberg region school captains and leaders of 2024 have been revealed as they share what it means to take on the prestigious title for 2024.

The commencement of a new school year in 2024 will usher in a fresh wave of leaders in the Bundaberg region, each with unique goals and aspirations for the future, as schools across the region name their leaders of tomorrow.

Kepnock State High School
It was a joyous family affair at the 2023 Kepnock State High School awards night, where 2023 School Captain Zander Ephriams handed the mantle to little sister Natalie Ephraims.
The school celebrated the hand over on the awards night, where Tehya Hunt, Riley O’Neill and Ryan Hack were also named as the school’s 2024 Captains and Vice Captains.
Year 12 co-ordinator Nicole Amey spoke on the touching moment and said “Zander and Natalie are both committed to the life and community at Kepnock State High School which is evident in their success as becoming a school captain,” she said.
Bundaberg North State High School
As part of their 2024 school captaincy run, Bundaberg North State High School have made the decision to expand their leadership team, introducing vice captains for the first time.
As of next year, students at the high school with have four leaders representing their best interests as students.
Arie Cartner and Sophie Withington were named as the 2024 School Captains, with Elliot Russell and Byron Roy named as the 2024 Vice Captains.
Shalom College
Four students were named as the Shalom College School Captains for 2024 with the students accepting the prestigious title in October.
Jaslyn and Alexander will represent the school as its captains with Ella and Zain offering support to the student body as vice captains.
Bundaberg Christian College
Dozens of students were celebrated at the 2023 Bundaberg Christian College awards night, with students taking out top awards as presented by teachers.
The school named not four, but eight captains as part of the ceremony, with the school’s middle and senior cohorts welcoming their new leaders.
Nyria Spanner and Finn Cohen were named as the 2023 Senior School Captains with Reid Birbeck and Isabella Heidke backing them as vice.
The role of 2024 Middle School Captain will be shared among Marc Hawkins, Felicity Avery, Emma Hosking, Andy-Maree Jacobsen.
Isis State High School
Much like Kepnock SHS, Isis State High School celebrated an emotional handover of the school captain title at their 2023 awards ceremony held on November 13.
Four students stood shoulder to shoulder with their previous captains, ready to take on the prestigious mantle.
Ryan Bunyan, Rebecca King, Emma Meyer and Ebony Ricciardi were named as the 2024 School Captains.
Gin Gin State High School
Multiple students were awarded with a School Captain title on October 30, with House Captains, Junior School Captains, Senior School Captains and Student Council Presidents all named as part of the 2024 leadership team.
Isabella Wesche and Brody Terlier were announced as the 2024 School Captains with Bridget Murphy serving as Student Council President.
The title of House Corang Captain was awarded to Brodi Clark with Nicolas Goodland serving as vice-captain, Baranga House Captain was awarded to Emily Last with Harrison Senescall serving as vice-captain and Manumbar House Captain awarded to Isabella Volp backed by Lawson Cook as vice-captain.
Joshua Waters and Azaria Young were named as the school’s Young Captains.
Bundaberg State High School
It was well and truly a story of girl power at the 2023 Bundaberg State High School awards night on Thursday November, 16 where dozens of students were applauded for their 2023 academic achievements.
As part of the awards evening, four female students were named as 2024’s school captains, ready to lead the school to a brighter tomorrow.
Soraya Lynch, Sophie Moore, Scarlette Wallace and Cadence Taylor were named as the schools 2024 captains.
St Lukes Anglican College and Rosedale State School (senior) were unable to respond by deadline.
