From the races to the rodeo, show, John Butler and more, there’s no shortage of events on the calendar for Bundaberg over the coming days. See the list:

Closing out May with a bang, there’s no shortage of events scheduled in Bundaberg over the next several days.

Here’s a short list of some of the big events pegged for the rest of the week in Bundy:

Bundaberg Show

The Bundaberg Show kicks off today with gates opening from 8am and the main pavilion, poultry pavilion, horse events in the main arena and side show alley opening at 9am.

Running until Friday night, there’s no shortage of entertainment, activities and more to be enjoyed.

From mock medieval battles and tournaments, to equestrian events, a ute muster, wood chopping event, live entertainment, and fireworks on Wednesday and Thursday evening, it’s bound to be something for everyone.

The Show festivities will wrap up on Friday night with the rodeo and live music from Mark Lavender.

The show, held at the Bundaberg Recreational Precinct, will run from May 26-28.

An Evening with John Butler

After Brisbane's recent lockdown caused John Butler to postpone his Bundaberg show, the Aussie music icon has rescheduled his gig at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre for late May.

The Aussie singer-songwriter John Butler is finally getting to take the stage in Bundaberg on Wednesday night, May 26.

After having to postpone due to covid-related factors, Butler is set to play at the Moncrieff Entertainment Centre from 8–10pm.

A Reserve tickets cost $80 and B Reserve cost $70.

Moncrieff Entertainment Centre is at 177 Bourbong St.

Rum City Foods Show Holiday Races

If you’re looking to get dressed up for the public holidays, head down to the Bundaberg racecourse for the Rum City Foods Show Holiday Races on Thursday, May 27.

There will be 6 TAB races, bar, cafeteria, bookmakers, TVs, and TAB facilities and best-dressed prizes will be awarded for ladies and men in Autumn appropriate racewear.

Gates open at 11am and general Admission tickets are $15.

Family Jules debut

FAMILY JULES: Jules is getting the band back together and they are set to take the stage on Friday night at the Sugarland Tavern.

Performing The Angel’s hit ‘Am I Ever Gonna See Your Face Again’ local band Family Jules will take the Sugarland Tavern stage on Friday night, May 28, for their first performance together.

Triple M Bundaberg’s Julia Greenhalf will be playing the drums while Chris Castles is on bass.

It’s free entry to the Sugarland Tavern with entertainment from Bossman Bedford at 7pm before the band takes the spotlight for 3 minutes at 8pm.

Wazza Wrangell, who sings the JB and Jules jingle, may also make an appearance for a live performance of the theme tune.

QLD Maroons Bundaberg Fan Day

A Queensland Maroons community day will be held in Bundaberg on June 1, giving local fans and aspiring footballers the chance to meet their heroes.

For those looking to attend, you’ll need to register your attendance, as part of the event’s COVID-Safe plan to ensure the health and safety of all players and supporters.

While those that want to be part of the Maroons fan day lunch which will be held inside the Convention Centre from noon will have to register their attendance here.
