Fireys have battled to protect a Point Vernon home after a boat parked in the carport caught fire on Wednesday morning.
Two fire trucks crews were called to the Cliveden Ave address at 9.13am, arriving to find the boat well alight.
The fire had extended to a nearby shed, which firefighters tackled first before working to contain the rest of the blaze.
The house was slightly damaged in the fire.
The owner of the boat said he believed the fire was started by a battery short circuiting, and investigations into it were underway.
