Aussie artists: Bundaberg wants your art on its gallery walls in 2026

Expressions of interest are open for artists nationwide to present solo or group exhibitions in Bundaberg’s premier gallery spaces.

Bundaberg Regional Galleries has launched its annual call-out for exhibition proposals, encouraging emerging, mid-career and established artists nationwide to submit expressions of interest.

With five dedicated exhibition spaces available, the program caters to a variety of artists and exhibition types, offering a professional platform to showcase contemporary work.
Bundaberg Regional Council’s Arts and Heritage portfolio spokesperson councillor John Learmonth said the initiative helped bring diverse, engaging exhibitions to the region.

“This is a wonderful opportunity to work with the professional team at Bundaberg Regional Galleries to bring engaging, contemporary art to our local audiences,” Mr Learmonth said.

“Applications will be selected based on a range of criteria including artistic excellence, capacity to enrich and engage the audience, and relevance to a regional narrative.

“I’m looking forward to seeing what exciting new exhibitions we can bring to the region in the coming years.”

Artists need not be based in the Bundaberg Region to apply.
Applications are open to individuals or groups, with proposals required to include a curatorial concept, artist biography and CV, and up to 10 images representative of the proposed work.

Applications close on 30 June, with successful applicants notified by 31 August.
