Tributes and donations have flowed for a young father and tradie tragically killed in a workplace incident last week.

Jake Anderson was working as a refrigerator repairer on the roof of a butcher shop, Coota Valley Meats, at Engadine Arcade on January 30.

Emergency services were called to the Old Princes Highway shortly before 11.40am following reports a man had been injured after being electrocuted.

Mr Anderson was treated by NSW Ambulance paramedics but, despite their best efforts, he died at the scene.

A second man, aged in his 60s, was also injured when he rendered first aid to Mr Anderson.

A friend set up a GoFundMe page to raise funds to support Mr Anderson’s family.

“This horrific news has left Jake’s friends and loved ones in complete heartbreak and disbelief,” the page said.

“Through Jake’s tenacious work ethic, he was recently able to purchase his first house in Engadine and start an amazing life for himself, his beautiful partner Jess and her daughter Evie who he loved dearly.

“We would love for Jess and Evie to be able to stay in this house for as long as possible and provide financial stability as they navigate the uncertain times that lie ahead.”

The friend said Mr Anderson was “loved by everyone he met” and built friendships through school, work, soccer, skateboarding, golf, drinking Reschs and “any of the other activities that he was so modestly and effortlessly good at”.

More than $26,000 has been raised in 24 hours and contributors left touching tributes about Mr Anderson.

“Such tragic news, sincerest condolences to family and friends,” a loved one said.

“Jake was one of the most kindest, funny, and energetic kids I ever knew,” another person commented

“Thoughts with you and your families, taken too soon. We’re so sorry for your loss,” another post read.

Mr Anderson operated MRA Commercial Refrigeration where he provided services, repairs and installations.
