Northern Territory Covid travel restrictions lifted for Victoria, South Australia
Victoria and South Australia will cease to be Covid-19 hotspots for the purpose of travel to the NT from midnight.

METROPOLITAN Adelaide and several Victorian regions will cease to be Covid-19 hotspots for the purpose of travel to the NT from 12.01am on Wednesday.
Anyone arriving from the newly revoked hotspot areas after that time will no longer have to undertake mandatory supervised quarantine and anyone currently quarantining will be free to go.
The Victorian local government areas are the cities of Greater Melbourne and Greater Geelong and the Moorabool, Bass Coast and Mildura shires.

Chief health officer Hugh Heggie said the changes came after successful lockdowns in South Australia and Victoria which successfully contained the states’ outbreaks, leading to the lifting of lockdown restrictions.
“The swift public health controls and lockdown restrictions put in place in Victoria and South Australia have curbed the Covid-19 outbreak in these states,” he said.
“Victoria in particular, has again been able to get the outbreak under control and down to cases only involving people who are already in quarantine. I am therefore able to revoke hotspots in Victoria and South Australia, following lockdown restrictions being reduced in those states.”
But Dr Heggie warned the virus “has not gone away”.
“It is paramount that we remain vigilant and consider the need to travel, and the potential consequences of travelling,” he said.
“The most important and effective action Territorians can take is to get the Covid-19 vaccine. Getting the Covid-19 vaccine is the best way to protect yourself and your family and get life back to normal sooner.”
