GOLD Coast Married At First Sight contestant Mike Gunner has shot back at a breakfast radio show for saying he mistreated his TV wife Heidi Letcham.
102.9 Hot Tomato breakfast show presenter Emily Jade O’Keeffe today revealed she and MAFS star Ms Letcham have been best buds for a decade.
She made the announcement on Instagram to her over 12,000 followers, sharing a photo of them both, adding she wasn’t happy with the way her friend was treated by Mr Gunner on the show.
“I don’t miss seeing Mike totally ignore her needs and say sexist righteous comments,” Ms O’Keeffe wrote.
Mr Gunner told the Bulletin he “doesn’t appreciate what she said” and he would like to speak live on air.
“I’ve met this woman and I don’t know if anyone else in the same room as her gets to do much talking. She seems to have an opinion on everything,” he said.
“She’s got a big mouth and doesn’t listen when you talk.

“Heidi is in radio and I don’t doubt she has formed alliances with people on the radio over the years.
“When it comes to a senseless attack on me and my character, then things can get biblical real fast.
“I can only reassure this woman I made my very best attempt to win Heidi’s affection, but it was an impossible task.
“I think Heidi has wounds that haven’t healed yet. And those prevented her from opening up and allowing me to (have) the opportunity to create something special with her.”

Mr Gunner said he would like to go on the show to clear things up.
“Any time, day or night,” he said.
“I’d be happy to address any concerns and hopefully it’s a respectful conversation.”
The Bulletin contacted Ms O’Keeffe to ask if she would invite Mr Gunner to be on the show but she denied to comment.
This isn’t the first time Mr Gunner has fired back at comments made in the media.
