Guns, knives, stolen cars: Toowoomba teen arrested after alleged crime spree across southeast Queensland

A Toowoomba teen has been arrested after she and two others allegedly went on a crime spree across Brisbane and the Gold Coast, where the group allegedly stole a car at knifepoint.

A Toowoomba girl was one of three teenagers arrested following an alleged two day crime spree across Brisbane and the Gold Coast involving two stolen cars and weapons.

A Queensland Police spokesman said the 15-year-old Wilsonton Heights girl was charged on Thursday, April 27, with assault, robbery, unlawful use of a car and the unlawful entry of a car.

An 18-year-old Wacol man and 16-year-old Drewvale girl were also charged with assault, robbery, and the unlawful use and entry of a car.

The spokesman said the group was allegedly involved in a robbery on Anzac Day morning at Brisbane, where a ride share driver allegedly had his Toyota Camry stolen at knifepoint.

About 10 hours later the group then allegedly stole a gold Toyota FJ Cruiser at 11.50am from a Paddington home.

“These two vehicles were observed possibly travelling together along the M1 heading toward the Gold Coast around 3am on Tuesday morning by a member of the public who reported them acting suspiciously,” he said.

“Around 6.37am Wednesday morning, a (Gold Coast) resident reported offenders attempted to gain entry to his (Helensvale) property.

“They were observed to be possibly armed with a firearm.”

On Wednesday afternoon, officers tracked the trio to Inala and used a tire deflation device on the Toyota FJ Cruiser, which was soon found crashed into a bollard at a park.

“The three teenagers were located nearby a short time later,” he said.

“The man will appear in the Richlands Magistrates Court on Thursday and the two girls will appear at the Richlands Childrens Court.”
