A popular restaurateur is poised to make a culinary comeback, announcing a new restaurant at Broadbeach.
After selling Ioesco at Sanctuary Cove, Max Alfieri has his sights set on a June opening at Pacific Fair.
He said Modo Mio would also be an upmarket Italian venue, with a menu mixing modern and classic recipes.
“We’ve taken a unique approach to Italian cuisine by putting our own modern twist on traditional dishes,” he said.
“Pacific Fair Shopping Centre is already one of the most prominent and renowned international shopping and dining destinations in Australia.
“We are committed to taking it to the next level and creating an unparalleled dining experience for our customers.”
Mr Alfieri said he would be going all out to create the perfect atmosphere at Modo Mio.
“We have spared no expense in creating a unique dining experience (including) elegant onyx, brass and marble finishes,” he said.
Mr Alfieri said he planned to organise a “spectacular” opening event to match.
“There’s nothing we love more than good food and a spectacular opening event along with a few little never-seen-before surprises to make for a memorable evening,” he said.
Mulpha Australia, owner and operators of Bimbadgen Wines, snapped up Ioesco Sanctuary Cove more than a year ago.
At the time, the Alfieris — who had run the Italian restaurant since 2008 — stayed on as managers.
