Four people are dead in three separate crashes in a horror Friday on southern Queensland roads.

A 17-year-old boy and a 21-year-old man died when their red Hyundai i20 lost control, crossed a median strip, collided with a black Holden and overturned at the intersection of MacDonnell Rd and Snook St, Clontarf, north of Brisbane about 10pm.

Moreton District police duty officer Senior Sergeant Jeff Lansdown said: “Our preliminary investigations would indicate that vehicle has crossed onto the wrong side of the road, however we are still conducting investigations.”

Family members sobbed as they arrived at the crash scene about midnight.

Two occupants of the Holden were taken to Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.

Sen-Sgt Lansdown said there were a number of witnesses, and there was nothing to suggest any of the vehicles were stolen.

Any other witnesses or people with dashcam footage are urged to contact Policelink on 131 444.

The Forensic Crash Unit is investigating.

The intersection of Snook St and MacDonnell Rd was expected to be closed for several hours.

Earlier, the 24-year-old female driver of a Subaru was killed when she collided with a Toyota LandCruiser on the Warrego Highway at Bowenville near Dalby on the Darling Downs just before 5pm.

The 39-year-old female driver and three children in the LandCruiser were transported to Toowoomba Hospital with minor injuries.

And in the Bundaberg region, a 54-year-old woman died and a child was injured when a vehicle rolled down an embankment off Gin Gin-Mount Perry Rd and Rainbow Ave about 3.30pm.

A third person, a man in his 40s, was taken to Bundaberg Hospital with arm injuries.

It follows a collision between a four-wheel-drive and a truck west of Toowoomba on Thursday that claimed the lives of a 29-year-old woman and 12-year-old girl from the same family.

A man aged in his 30s, suffered critical head and chest injuries and was flown to the Royal Brisbane and Women’s Hospital.
