One trapped in crash at Bruce Hwy intersection near Gympie KFC
A woman has been trapped in the wreckage of her car after a crash on the Bruce Highway just outside a fast food restaurant. It follows a fatal crash in the same region overnight.

Firefighters were have been forced to cut free a woman left trapped in the wreckage of her car following a crash on the Bruce Hwy outside Gympie’s KFC restaurant.
Emergency crews were called to the scene of the crash, at the intersection of the Hwy and Channon St, about 2.20pm when her car collided with a vehicle towing a trailer laden with camping gear.
Police were forced to block a section of Channon St off and and the Hwy was been reduced to one lane as emergency crews worked to treat the woman.
A QAS spokeswoman said she suffered neck injuries in the crash and was taken to Gympie Hospital in a stable condition.
The crash follows an horrific accident overnight on the Hwy at Kanigan in which a Sunshine Coast woman was killed and a Brisbane man suffered serious injuries.
