Two men have been taken to hospital following near-drownings at Burleigh Beach on the Gold Coast.

The men, one of whom is aged in his 30s, were pulled from the water at a location off Kratzman Aven and The Esplanade about 2.40pm.

They were taken to Robina Hospital, both in a stable condition.

The age of the other man was not released.

In a separate incident just after 3.30pm, a third person was taken to Gold Coast University Hospital in a stable condition after being “dumped” in the surf at Burleigh Heads.

And on the Sunshine Coast a male bodyboard rider in his early 20s had to be winched to safety by the Westpac Rescue Helicopter when he was caught in a rip 1km north of Dicky Beach at Caloundra.

The incidents were among 101 rescues by Surf Life Saving Queensland across the state today.

Lifeguards and lifesavers also took part in more than 3000 “preventive actions” and administered first aid 29 times.
