A phone-charging power bank left on a bus triggered an exclusion zone in Brisbane’s south overnight.

The exclusion zone was set up near Beaudesert and Nottingham roads at Calamvale about 8.40pm on Wednesday.

A Queensland Fire Department spokeswoman said four crews had been called after an initial report of an “unknown substance” on a bus.

“Scientific officers have been called to the scene to assess the substance,” she said.

Police were also at the scene.

However it was found to be a power bank for a smartphone.
